  1. Preheat oven to 350 and line two cookie sheets with parchment paper
  2. Using a food processor, grind up the ΒΌ C of red hot candies until they are crushed
  3. Using a large bowl, beat the butter, sugar, vanilla and egg until fluffy and combined
  4. Using a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, baking soda, and baking powder
  5. Gradually beat in the dry ingredients into the wet
  6. Fold in the crushed up red hot candies
  7. Using a medium ice cream scooper, scoop out some dough onto the cookie sheets
  8. Bake in the oven for 7 minutes
  9. Remove from oven and place a red hot heart in the center
  10. Place back into the oven and bake for another 2 – 3 minutes or until lightly golden brown
  11. Allow to cool before enjoying
