Plastic Easter Egg Glow Bugs

These adorable plastic Easter egg glow bugs are so fun and so easy to make! We have seen these done in the past before and wanted to make some like it this year, so we got the kids in on it and made a bunch of little glow bugs to decorate for Easter this year with.

Materials:

  1. Plastic Easter Eggs
  2. Bead Reamer
  3. Chenille Stems
  4. Scissors
  5. Glue
  6. Wiggle eyes
  7. Led Tea Lights or other small light

Directions:

  1. Using your bead reamer poke 4 holes in the top of the larger half of the egg near the seam for the wings (Adults Only)
  2. Next poke 2 holes on the smaller half of the egg near the seam for the antennas (near the wing holes) (Adults Only)
  3. On the bottom half of the egg do 3 holes on each side (spread between the 2 halves) for feet (Adults Only)
  4. Cut 6 small pieces of your chenille stems and poke them in the bottom feet holes- trim and round the feet out
  5. Cut 2 each pieces of chenille stems for antennas- poke them in the top holes and twist them downward
  6. Cut 2 each more larger pieces of chenille stems to make your wings, poke each end into a hole and bend in the shape of wings (see images)
  7. Glue on 2 each wiggle eyes below the antennas
  8. Insert an led tea light into your egg and enjoy

NOTE: Led tea lights usually have small button batteries that can be harmful to small children and pets, please use caution.
