Cookie Bird Nest

Cookie Egg Nest treat sm

Cookie Bird Nest

With most schools only allowing prepacked treats we decided to come up with this fun spring/ Easter treat idea.

Materials

  1. Oatmeal Creme Pies
  2. Tan Tissue Paper
  3. Spanish Moss
  4. Small Foil wrapped chocolate eggs
  5. Scissors
  6. Hot glue and Low temp hot glue gun
  7. Tape

Directions:

  1. tape down the loose pieces of plastic on your cookie to the back side
  2. cut a strip of your tan tissue paper (appx 4″-6″ wide, and the full length of the paper)
  3. fold tissue piece in half long wise and then begin twisting the tissue paper
  4. glue twisted tissue paper around the bottom of your cookies edge, continue to wrap and glue till it forms a slight wall of tissue paper leaving the center of the cookie exposed
  5. add a dab of hot glue to the center of the cookie, place a small handful of Spanish moss to the glue
  6. place in the center of the moss your foil wrapped eggs

NOTE: the plastic wrap on the cookie stays in tack the entire time, glue the item to the outside of the plastic (I recommend using a low temp hot glue gun so it does not melt the plastic)
