Easter Sock Friends Craft

Materials:

  1. Socks (Yellow for baby chicks and desired colors for bunnies)
  2. Uncooked rice
  3. Rubber Bands
  4. Hot Glue and glue gun
  5. White and Pink pom poms (the size all depends on how large you make your bunnies)
  6. Black sharpie
  7. White paint marker (optional)
  8. Raffia or Chenille stems
  9. Ribbon (desired colors for bunny and chicks
  10. Scissors
  11. Orange felt
  12. Yellow feathers
  13. blush and blush brush (may use paint if desired)

Directions for Bunnies

  1. begin by filling your sock with rice (fill to about 3/4 of the way full) gently squeeze your sock/ rice about 1/8 of the way down the top of the rice determining how large you want the bunny head to be, add a rubber band at the bottom of the bunny head and add one at the top of the head.
  2. once you have shaped its body and head take a pair of fabric or sharp scissors and cut the top of the sock in half down to the top of the bunny head- you will end up with two halves of the sock at the top your your bunny head, shape/ cut each half into bunny ears
  3. Hot glue on small strands of raffia or chenille stems for the bunnys whiskers
  4. Hot glue over your whiskers, pom poms to create the bunnies nose
  5. Use a sharpie to add the eyes (optional: using a white paint pen add white dots in the bunnies eyes)
  6. Hot glue on the bunnies ribbon or tie ribbon around the bunnies neck adding a bow in front
  7. Add a white pom pom to the back of your bunny for a tail
  8. Add some light pink cheeks by using some blush and blush brush (you can also dry brush your cheeks with acrylic paint)

Directions of Easter Chicks

    1. begin by filling your sock with rice just over 3/4 of the way full
    2. place a rubber band around the sock just at the top of where the rice is
    3. trim some the the excess sock leaving appx 1″ of sock above the rice/ rubber band
    4. trim several slits in the top of the remaining 1″ of sock trimming downward making it appear more feather like
    5. Hot glue some yellow feathers at the top (I glued them in the middle of the trimmed sock pieces, mixing them in)
    6. Cut a beak out of orange felt and hot glue onto your sock
    7. Use a sharpie to add the eyes (optional: using a white paint pen add white dots in the bunnies eyes)
    8. Add some light pink cheeks by using some blush and blush brush (you can also dry brush your cheeks with acrylic paint)
    9. Hot glue on your chicks ribbon (either a bow tie for a boy or a bow at the top for a girl)
