Harry Potter Sorting Hat Cake Pops
Harry potter sorting house cake pops – these are so fun for a Harry Potter themed party, the kids get so excited to see what house they get sorted into, simply have each kid bite into their cake pop to reveal what Hogwarts house they will be in.
Materials:
- White cake mix and items to make cake per directions
- Candy Melts
- Food safe dye/ Food coloring
- Black fondant or frosting
- White fondant
- Gold food safe spray
- Cake pop sicks
- Cake pan and tin foil or Cupcake pan
Directions:
- Make cake mix per box directions
- Separate cake mix into separate jars
- Add food coloring into each jar (Green, Black, Grey, Blue, Yellow, Red)
- Pour cake mixes into cake pan divided by tin foil or make each as a cupcake
- Bake per directions
- Once cool crumble each color cake into separate cups
- Add some frosting to each cake crumble and mix till you have a good cake pop consistency
- Make your cake pops by adding a piece of each color together (for each Hogwarts House) and roll into a ball and place on pan.
- Place in freezer for a couple of minutes
- Melt your candy melts in to separate cups
- Dip your cake sticks into your candy melts and then insert into each cake ball
- Cool for a few more minutes in freezer
- Dip your cake balls into your candy melts
- Let set up in freezer for a couple of minutes
- Make your designs out of black fondant or frosting
- For wings make them out of white fondant and place on your gold sprayed cake pop
- Optional: tie a ribbon to the stick of each cake ball
- Have each kid pick their cake pops to see what house they are sorted into
