Snowflake Sprinkle Cookies

Snowflake sprinkle cookies
Instructions
  1. Royal Icing Directions:
  2. Using the standing mixer, combine the egg whites, cream of tarter, vanilla and powder sugar and mix until combined and stiff peaks form
  3. Directions
  4. Using the piping bag, pipe out 24 thick snowflakes
  5. Allow to dry overnight
  6. Place left over icing into the fridge to use for the center of the cookies
  7. Cookie Directions :
  8. Preheat oven to 350 degrees and line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
  9. Using a standing mixer, cream together the butter and sugar until creamy and smooth.
  10. Mix in the egg yolks and vanilla extract.
  11. In a medium bowl, combine flour, baking powder and salt.
  12. Gradually beat in the flour mixture into the butter mixture until combined
  13. Scoop dough out and roll into a tablespoon size ball
  14. Pour the sprinkles into a small bowl
  15. Roll dough ball into sprinkles and place onto the cookie sheet
  16. Repeat steps for about 11 more cookies. Bake 12 cookies at a time
  17. Bake in the oven for 8-10 minutes
  18. Using the back of a tablespoon make an indent into the cookies
  19. Allow cookies to cool completely before moving onto a wire rack
  20. Finish baking remaining dough
  21. Once cookies are baked and cooled, pipe icing into the center of the cookie
  22. Allow icing to harden for 30 minutes
  23. Carefully remove snowflake from parchment paper and pipe a small dollop onto the back of the snowflake
  24. Carefully place snowflake into the center of the icing
  25. Allow to dry for 15 minutes before enjoying!
